Unfortunately for all involved, the research work behind the druggiest list falls short. It purported to rank the 50 “druggiest” colleges and universities in the United States. The other list proved to be much more popular with Daily Beast readers, but not so defensible scientifically, statistically or journalistically. ![]() It ranks the 25 coldest cities in the United States, giving top honors to Fairbanks, Alaska. The first appears to be scientifically and statistically defensible. The Daily Beast website has become an online success by featuring a collection of interesting news items from around the world, putting them in a snazzy package, wrapping them in cheeky headlines and providing all sorts of lists - top 10 beauty tips from the stars, 20 happiest cities and the like.
